GENEVA, Switzerland, Feb. 5 ― At ECR 2014 Carestream will showcase a raft of innovation designed to help radiology professionals improve patient care, workflow and costs. Many of these solutions will be on show for the first time in Europe and are being demonstrated as current works-in-progress, including:

  • A new generation of Vue PACS  as a work in progress designed to integrate images with reports and enable cost-effective teleradiology capabilities
  • Work-in-progress enhancements to its digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) module on its Vue Mammo Workstation, scheduled to include the display of DICOM-compliant 2D synthetic views, which are calculated from the 3D dataset
  • Latest version of image acquisition software for its CR and DR systems with a bone suppression feature, designed to create a companion image to suppress the appearance of posterior ribs and clavicles while enhancing the visualisation of soft tissue in the chest. A new IHE Dose Reporting capability will collect and distribute dose information from all CARESTREAM DR and CR systems to a healthcare provider’s PACS
  • An expansion of its cloud-based services family with the addition of the Vue Motion physician portal and MyVue Patient Portal as cloud services.
  • An innovative reporting feature to its  Vue RIS  and PACS platform whereby radiologists will be able to insert bookmarks with key images that may contain vessel analysis or measurement data into their reports to help optimise treatment decisions.
  • New Managed Print Services programme that helps eliminate the capital investment in film printing systems and offers a payment model based on per-print usage, with management through an easy-to-use and comprehensive Web portal.
