Hospital Used Carestream’s Innovative X-ray Imaging Technology to Image Players at 2013 NFL Combine

System Delivers High-Quality Images in Five Seconds

ROCHESTER, N.Y., March 5 — Delivering exceptionally high-quality X-ray images in just five seconds earned an innovative imaging system an encore performance at the 2013 National Football League Combine. Used at last year’s Combine for the first time, the CARESTREAM DRX-1 detector streamlines the process of capturing medical images for hundreds of athletes. These imaging exams are part of a comprehensive physical conducted at Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

The annual scouting combine is a week-long event where select college football players perform physical tests for evaluation by NFL coaches, general managers and scouts in preparation for drafting new players.

“The CARESTREAM DRX-1 detector equipped our staff to conduct a high volume of imaging exams during the NFL Combine while delivering enhanced image quality,” said Todd Stanley, Administrative Director of Radiology, Indiana University Health Methodist Hospital. “Medical representatives of NFL teams appreciate this next-generation technology.”
