Price Increases On Medical, Dental And Non-Destructive Testing Films

ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 21 — Carestream Health announced worldwide price increases on all its medical imaging, dental and non-destructive testing films. Film prices will increase as much as 50 percent or more in some areas of the world.

The price increases are necessary due to continuing increases in the cost of commodities used in film manufacturing including silver, polyester and other essential resources.

Carestream Health has made substantial, ongoing improvements in its film manufacturing operations. However, silver—a significant portion of manufacturing costs—has more than doubled in cost in the last year and has increased more than five times in cost in the last six years. In addition, oil prices are up 30 percent in the last year which increases the cost of utilities, transportation and the petroleum-based polyester used in the production of film.

Specific details surrounding price increases will be communicated locally in each country. In the interim, customers that have questions are asked to contact their local Carestream Health sales representative or authorized dealer.
Carestream Health also offers a broad range of innovative digital imaging solutions to address specific customer needs. More information on the company’s broad portfolio of digital imaging systems can be found at
