CS 9300 CBCT System Designed for Otolaryngology (ENT) and Dental Imaging

GENEVA, Switz., March 4 — At ECR 2011 Carestream Health will showcase the new affordable CS 9300*. Designed for a variety of ENT and dental imaging applications—including sinus and temporal bone exams, implantology, endodontics, periodontics, and orthodontics—the unit delivers cone beam CT (CBCT) and panoramic images. An optional cephalometric module will also be available further increasing the system’s versatility.

The CS 9300’s high-resolution CBCT images (down to 0.09mm voxel size) make it an ideal tool for visualizing fine bony structures, such as temporal bone and tooth root structures. The system also offers adjustable fields of view, ranging from 5x5cm to 17x13.5cm, as well as a variable voxel size of 0.09mm to 0.5mm. Additionally, the system delivers a substantially lower radiation dose than most conventional CT systems, while its compact, open design accommodates patients of all sizes, including those in wheelchairs.

The CS 9300 is an affordable way to help radiologists increase revenue and productivity. The unit offers an attractive return on investment, allowing practitioners to expand their services to include a broad range of ENT and dental imaging services. The CS 9300 also offers a cost-effective way to offload sinus, temporal bone and dental CT exams from capacity constrained conventional CT units.

Designed to integrate into radiology workflows, the CS 9300 is DICOM-compliant, ensuring compatibility with PACS, RIS, and various printing systems. Users can take advantage of the included imaging software or continue using their preferred viewing software. The system also integrates with a variety of third-party software, such as implant planning software. Future integration is also planned with major image-guided surgery systems.

Built on a proven imaging platform with an installed base of more than 2,000 units, the CS 9300 complements Carestream Health’s existing portfolio of cone beam CT, panoramic, and cephalometric imaging solutions (comprised of the KODAK 8000, 9000, and 9500 systems). With its versatility, affordable purchase price, and low operating costs, the system extends the benefits of ENT and dental imaging to radiology practices of all sizes.
