Three New Printers to Address Diverse Needs of Imaging Providers Worldwide

Versatile Printer That Outputs Color, Grayscale Images to Paper, Medical Film Shown As Work in Progress

CHICAGO, Nov. 28 — Carestream Health announced three new printers that address the diverse printing needs of healthcare providers across the globe at the annual RSNA meeting. The company showed its new CARESTREAM DRYVIEW 6850 Laser Imager for high-quality, high-volume printing to medical diagnostic film and the tabletop CARESTREAM DRYVIEW 5700 Laser Imager for affordable high-quality film output. A new work in progress CARESTREAM DRYVIEW CHROMA Imager that will reproduce color or grayscale images and medical documents onto paper or film was also unveiled.

The CARESTREAM DRYVIEW CHROMA Imager will enable imaging centers, hospital departments, and other facilities to print high-quality, low-cost grayscale and color images from various modalities—including CT, CT/PET, MRI, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, CR, DR and radiation therapy planning—to paper or medical film. This versatile printer will be ideal for healthcare providers that need a general purpose device that can serve a variety of modalities and applications. When available, it will be able to be linked to PACS and to image-enabled EMR systems.

The high-volume DRYVIEW 6850 imager outputs up to 200 prints an hour to film at a resolution of 650 pixels-per-inch for every image. This high-resolution output meets the requirements for digital mammography (CR or FFDM) as well as traditional modalities (CT, MRI, ultrasound, CR and DR). It is designed for department-wide applications and offers several options, including a film sorter.

The DRYVIEW 5700 imager will deliver affordable, desktop output of CR, DR, MRI and CT exams onto medical film. This compact imager will combine high quality and reliability with low operating costs, which will make it an attractive solution for many clinics, imaging centers, and other imaging services providers.
