ROCHESTER, N.Y., April 1— Carestream Health, Inc., has signed an agreement to sell its headquarters building at 150 Verona Street, Rochester, to Buckingham Properties, LLC. Upon closing, Carestream Health will lease back the majority of the building’s space from Buckingham Properties for 10 years. Additional contract terms were not disclosed.
The building will remain named “Carestream Health” and the company’s world headquarters will remain at this location. Carestream Health may use the proceeds from the sale to pay dividends, pay down debt or invest in other areas of the company.
Carestream Health has relocated several operations around Rochester into its headquarters site. The company determined it did not need all the available space, and that it did not want to own and operate the building. When the transaction closes, Carestream Health will lease all but the third floor of the building for its use. Buckingham Properties is currently marketing the third floor office space to qualified commercial tenants.
The transaction is expected to close early this summer.
