Carestream Health Receives Accreditation From National Association Of Boards Of Pharmacy

NABP Approval Recognizes Company’s Compliance with Laws, Regulations Governing Distribution of Drugs and Medical Devices

ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 20 — The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) has approved Carestream Health, Inc., for accreditation in its Verified-Accredited Wholesale Distributors (VAWD) program. The VAWD program provides assurance that Carestream Health’s distribution facility operates legitimately, is validly licensed and in good standing, and employs security and best practices for distributing prescription drugs and devices to pharmacies, healthcare organizations and other institutions.

The VAWD was created in 2004 to protect the public from the threat of counterfeit drugs affecting the U.S. drug supply. The VAWD accreditation permits Carestream Health to display the VAWD seal on its Web site and cite its VAWD accreditation in company correspondence and promotional materials.

The products that Carestream Health distributes that are covered by the VAWD accreditation include dental anesthetics, anesthetics used in mammography and fluorescent imaging agents.
