ROCHESTER, N.Y., Jan. 20 — Carestream Health announced that Naval Medical Center San Diego has purchased its radiology and cardiology PACS , and Clinical Data Archive solutions. The San Diego facility is a premier teaching hospital and referral center for the Armed Forces and one of the largest Navy medical facilities in the nation.
In addition to the main Naval base, the multi-disciplinary healthcare system includes 11 primary care clinics and 10 dental clinics. A team of more than 6,000 military and civilian professionals provides healthcare for wounded personnel, as well as sailors and marines preparing to deploy, their family members, and those who have previously served in the Armed Forces.
With the CARESTREAM PACS, one workstation provides extensive and robust clinical tools and applications—allowing image review and diagnosis to occur anytime, anywhere. This platform also offers the ability to view images from a host of clinical specialties directly within the PACS workstation.
The Cardiology PACS consolidates disparate cardiology lab systems into a centralized solution for lower total cost of ownership. It enables on-site or remote reading of cardiology data from any networked workstation within and beyond the enterprise and provides single workstation review of echocardiography, cardiac catheterization, ECG, nuclear cardiology and hemodynamic results with fast, easy comparison of prior studies.
Integrating the CARESTREAM PACS with CARESTREAM Cardiology PACS will allow images from both platforms to be reviewed on a single workstation. The CARESTREAM Clinical Data Archive is a vendor-neutral, enterprise-wide repository for images and patient data.
