Carestream’s Cyber Security now Certified

Carestream One of First to Achieve ‘Cyber Essentials’ Certification, Soon to be Mandatory for NHS Healthcare Tenders

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, June 19—Carestream Health UK has successfully achieved Cyber Essentials certification. Run by the National Cyber Security Centre, a part of GCHQ, the Cyber Essentials scheme reassures customers that Carestream’s IT systems are installed, configured and maintained to meet a specific set of security standards. Those companies seeking certification are asked to provide information about their IT security set up to an independent assessor, who then verifies that they are suitably protected against the most common types of cyber attack. It is a new, and soon to be mandatory, requirement for central government contracts that involve handling sensitive and personal information or providing certain technical products and services. This includes NHS Healthcare IT tenders.

Charlie McCaffrey, Managing Director of Carestream Health UK, commented that: “This new certification demonstrates that we take cyber security seriously, we have a clear understanding of our cyber security level and work continually to secure our IT solutions against cyber attack.”
