Carestream Health Continues to Demonstrate Technological Leadership at UKRCO 2017

Diagnostic Imaging and Healthcare IT systems that Deliver Compelling Solutions to Healthcare Facilities and Patients

HEMEL HEMPSTEAD, April 5 — UKRCO 2017, the combined annual UK Radiological Congress and Radiation Oncology Congress is being held this year from 12 to 14 June in Manchester. In keeping with the theme of this year’s congress —new technology and techniques— Carestream will be demonstrating its continually developing range of medical imaging technology and healthcare IT solutions on its booth (number 22).

New systems that visitors to Carestream’s booth can expect to learn more about will include:

  • The CARESTREAM OnSight 3D Extremity System (video), which earned both the 2016 North American Frost & Sullivan Award for New Product Innovation and AuntMinnie’s Best New Radiology Device award for 2016. This compact cone beam CT system offers high-quality, lower-dose 3D imaging technology for capturing weight-bearing and other types of patient extremity images not possible with traditional CT.
  • The new CARESTREAM Touch Prime family of ultrasound systems. These allow sonographers and clinicians to better visualise small structures as well as contrast differences in tissue for radiology, OB/GYN, musculoskeletal and vascular applications. The new units offer a sealed, all-touch control panel that combines the speed and flexibility of a soft user interface with the tactile feedback of traditional keys, making it easy to clean and comfortable to use.
  • The latest CARESTREAM DRX Plus detectors, which are faster and lighter than previous models, and DRX Core detectors designed to make reliable, high-quality digital X-ray imaging affordable for healthcare providers of all sizes.
  • The CARESTREAM DRX-Transportable System / Lite, which features wireless tablet control, meaning users can quickly and cost effectively convert existing analogue systems to DR and then port these easily around the Radiology Department to review images once they have been acquired.
  • Visitors will also be able to discuss with Carestream’s experts the advantages that the company’s Clinical Collaboration Platform can offer their facilities. Designed around a Unified Core architecture to enhance security as well as interoperability, this solution complements healthcare providers’ existing IT systems. The architecture delivers clinical image data acquisition, viewing, sharing and archiving, and allows healthcare facilities to incorporate other ‘ologies  such as Digital Pathology  Medical teams can use the Carestream enterprise viewer technology to view and share patient data easily using mobile devices.

Analytics, artificial intelligence, Big Data and machine learning are essential IT capabilities that can help healthcare organisations to compete and thrive in the next generation of healthcare. Come and talk to our experts about how Carestream can support you.
