Sollefteå Hospital, Sweden, Invests in Digital X-ray from Carestream Health

GENEVA, Switz., 26 JulyCarestream has recently installed and commissioned a CARESTREAM DRX-Revolution Mobile X-ray system at Sollefteå Hospital in central Sweden. Chosen after an assessment following a public tender, the Carestream mobile system is already delivering extremely high image quality and during early evaluations staff found the system very intuitive to use, offering good visibility due to its fully automatic collapsible column – the first in the industry. “The hospital will also benefit from greater flexibility and increased productivity through access to x-ray images within seconds,” said Ake Melander, Carestream X-ray Solutions Business Manager, Nordic & Baltics. The installation at Sollefteå Hospital also included upgrading existing analogue equipment to digital with the Carestream Retrofit System, which will further improve productivity in the x-ray department.

Sollefteå Hospital is one of three emergency hospitals run by the Västernorrland County Council in Sweden. The hospital’s radiology department operates round the clock and all examinations and treatments are performed by highly experienced staff, using latest technology. All images are produced digitally and can be sent to other health care providers across their network. In addition to diagnostic imaging, a large number of treatments are performed within the radiology department with radiologists working alongside staff from other departments in the hospital.
